Rocket&Tigerli, Winterthur, Schweiz
By 2026, the world’s tallest residential timber building with a load-bearing structure in wood will rise about the ridges in the Swiss city Winterthur.
Kristian Ahlmark, Partner and Design Director at Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects, elaborates on creating the 100 m tall tower, the Rocket&Tigerli, in a former industrial area that is being transformed into an attractive neighbourhood. The project marks a milestone introducing an innovative construction system that examines wood as a natural replacement for concrete.
